I have been with dot5 since 2002. Initially they were cheap and offered a good deal. Over the years I have continuously had issues.
In general my email stops working about every 6 months and I have to get them to fix it. This happens EVERY 6 months and you would think they have it figured out by now. The last time it took them a week to fix my email, despite having to do it every 6 months for 8 years! Weekly there is at least one day or part of a day I can't get email. Go figure.
I concur with reviewers who said they're tech support doesn't understand– what good customer service is. They do not listen or read the emails. I know what info they will need when I submit a support request, so I include it in the email to save time and trouble. They never read it and then repeatedly ask for the info that is clearly provided. It wastes my time and it is frustrating.
The final straw for me is they are charging me for services I cancelled a year ago and trying to auto renew them for this year. I brought this to their attention thinking it was an honest mistake and they refused to refund the money, even though they admit it is their mistake. They're answer is that their policy is not to give refunds. WTF! They offered to activate these cancelled services. If I wanted them I would not have cancelled them!
It has taken me 8 years to get to this point. I feel that if they don't care enough about long-term customers like me, then I don't want to do business with them. It has taken me this long to transfer my domain because it requires a lot of work from me and, well, I am lazy. But they have finally pushed me to far and I am leaving. |

| This company has ruined my business and my life, as well as costing me thousands of hits and lost revenue. They now are holding my database hostage and I've spent every day for more than a week fighting to get them to help with zero results. Be afraid. Be very afraid. |

| As a customer for over 6 months, I've had a great experience. Great call-in customer support, and the technical staff is very deticated to what they do. One time my SQL had gotten DDoS'ed and they were on it instantly and I was up in no time. All the reviews below this are wrong. The support given via online chat isn't that good but it is a very good company. The only negative about these guys is that the servers are occasionally slow and you get a 500 Error at times. 9 out of 10. |

I encourage all of you to file a formal complaint against this rip off company. They false advertise since they do not deliver what they advertise to suck you in and steal your money!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Being a novice website guy the company was doing alright .. until I needed help. Customer service is non-existent, and when you get them they cannot be understood. Then I was told to email my question and never got a reply.
Tried to promo code from previous purchase to purchase domain and to host another sight, but code was invalid. Was told to email support about promo code. After a few days of no reply I went to another service. Then, domain name was taken the day after I emailed my question to support.
I no longer trust this company. |

| the company is a total crap... it is always down... from the time i signed up, up to the time i cancelled my account, my website was never uploaded to their server... ftp and other features found in their vDeck didn't work.... i agree with all those who said that "YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY"... they will waste your time, money and effort... in a scale of 1 to 5, i give them negative 5. that says it all. crap! |

| Dot5hosting is a rip off! I cannot get my website listed at any of the major search engine companies. You call customer service and you reach people from India with thick accents that cannot be understood. This is one of the WORST hosting services I have come across. As the old saying goes - You get what you pay for, and when you pay for shit, you get shit! Interesting how one of the positives listed above states 8 years of hosting. They have not even been in business 8 years. Horrible Hosting - Period! |

| My site was taken over by some engineering firm. Dot 5 Tech support told me to contact them and "work on it." Unbelievable. They are cheap, but you have to spend a lot of time with them on the phone and via email to fix anything if it goes wrong. They often dont understand your complaints and keep telling you to do the same thing over and over again as if you were a moron. THEY are the morons. |

| Currently- their service is falling apart. My site has been offline more than its been online in the last 30 days. Drop-outs of their DNS are regular and frequent, SQL database self-generates errors, cross-linked files, support response times in excess of 12 hours (2 hours is quoted). They suck- plain and simple. Until they can get it together, run away. |

They advertise that you can host up to 6 domains on one account. What they don't tell you is that only one of these domains will have email capabilities!
