That hosting not update his hosting software.
Blame me after my forum (updated to latest version) was hacked!
Also my friend CMS was hacked the same day, with same hacker team.
And still he blame us and not him.
Judge by yourself:
His Apache server version is 1.3.37
But latest is 1.3.39
His PHP version is 5.1.6 mean that it's last updated a year ago!
But latest is 5.2.4
His MySQL version is 4.1.22
But latest is 5.0.45
Pro: Cheap.
Con: Very vulnerable hosting. |

Their IP address is blocked by many large companies, like AOL and Earthlink; so you cannot send e-mails to these people. Pronet says that it is powerless to do anything since these are "large" companies. I say: " I don't care. If you have problems with impotency, take a damn viagra." Anyway, we finally ditched this stupid company.
There seems to be only ONE person handling all the tech support and he gets pretty irritated when you push him a little too hard and invites a middle man, a certain "Judge Judy" named "Gary Aslanian." The guy's English is lacking, yet he's trying to throw big words around. They are all big babies at the support. Recently I was so angry that sent them an e-mail about their incompetence. Haven't heard from them since.
One thing I disagree with other viewers is that pronet does respond to e-mails (at least when they are not threatened). Nevetheless, that response is absolutely worthless because it doesn't resolve anything most of the time. Go with a hosting company like Crystal Tech instead of those idiots. |

I joined on the cheap package earlier today. I uploaded my site, and a Forum. I went to set up a MySQL Database, which went fine, but then when I wanted to create a User for the DB, it wouldn't work. No matter what I do, the Control Panel, or auto scripts, CANNOT create a MySQL user!
Which is pretty sh*t when you're trying to open a website with a Forum on it!
I have sent a Support Email, which hasn't been answered, although I got an automatic email back, saying that it would be answered in due course, and with a big "Low Priority" mark on it. Even though I need it dealt with ASAP, which I mentioned in the email.
Save up your money, and pay for expensive hosting! I learn't the hard way because of this so called "business"! |

Very poor system support. Over the past year, a site I maintain for a friend has been totally deleted from their system.
The first instance was a "virus" attack, which I guees I can understand. My account was still there, but my files were gone. They tried to restore the site, but it didn't work.
The latest instance we just noticed about a week ago. When trying to access the site, there was nothing there. I then proceeded to login to my account with pronethosting.net but my account was totally gone! After going back and forth with support, they said that the account was just gone and had no idea how long it was gone.
After trying to get a refund, we were informed that you must give them 7 days notice prior to your anniversary date to cancel the automatic renewel. We obviously missed the timeline.
Unfortunalty we are stuck with these guys and am not pleased at all. Sometimes I think it is some dude hosting sites in his basement. Stay away from this company! |

| Pronethosting.com is total crap. They claim to have good support and 99.9% uptime but there are always problems when logging in to your admin page, and a lot of the functions won't work for stretches at a time. I just sent a bunch of "forgot password" requests and none of the links worked. Every e-mail I've sent to support and sales hasn't been answered either, as they're trying to avoid the topic (gee, I wonder why). Server lags all over the place too. Avoid them at all costs; there are so many better hosts who'll actually answer your support questions. |
